Lewatit CNP 80

Lewatit® CNP 80 is a weakly acidic macroporous cation exchange resin with a standard particle size distribution, based on acrylic acid. Thanks to its very high total and operating capacity, excellent chemical and mechanical stability, and high resistance to osmotic shock, it is particularly well‑suited for dealkalization. When used in combination with a strongly dissociated cation exchanger (e.g., Lewatit® MonoPlus S 100) in demineralization systems, it provides higher regeneration efficiency.

Because Lewatit® CNP 80 requires only a small excess of acid for regeneration, it can be used economically in the following application areas:

• Dealkalization of industrial water in once‑through systems

• Demineralization of water in decationization systems in combination with a strong acid cation exchange resin (e.g., Lewatit® MonoPlus S 100)

• Removal of temporary hardness (carbonate hardness)

• Once‑through single‑bed systems in demineralization plants (polishing) for the removal of calcium in the hydroxide form, at flow velocities up to 50 m/h

• Single filtration systems for water softening, or as a polishing resin in combination with Lewatit® S 1467

• Removal or recovery of heavy metals such as copper, nickel, and zinc from electroplating rinse waters with a pH > 5, free of calcium ions and complexing agents, when the resin is in the sodium form
